Birthmarks come in many forms and may be made up of pigment cells, blood vessels, collagen or even a lack of pigment (for example, a naevus depigmentosus).
Our Dermatologists assess and manage all birthmarks, from infantile haemangiomas, which is a type of blood vessel birthmark, to moles big or small. There are also a number of genetic skin diseases which incorporate birthmarks, known as Genodermatoses, and Dermatologists are trained in investigating further where indicated.
