Dermatologists are specialist medical doctors trained specifically in undertaking comprehensive full skin examinations. The primary intent is to detect skin cancers, although a Dermatologist will also incidentally inspect your general skin health and notice any signs of internal illness.
When presenting for a full skin examination, be prepared to undress down to undergarments and please do not wear any cosmetics. Where possible, avoid having nail polish on as checking the fingernails and toenails forms part of the full skin examination.
