Dr. Benny Yau

Dr Benny Yau is a Brisbane born and bred Dermatology doctor and is in the final stages of
completing his training to become a fully-fledged Dermatologist.
Dr Yau completed his Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
and Master of Medicine (Skin Cancer) at the University of Queensland. He has a passion and
extensive experience in treating inflammatory (rashy) skin conditions as well as having skill
in surgery for skin cancer.
Dr Yau has had experience working in surgical fields prior to commencing his Dermatology
training in 2019. He has worked in Far North Queensland, Brisbane, Gold Coast and
Melbourne at the Peter Mac Hospital where he completed a research paper for his Masters
in pleomorphic dermal sarcoma. He worked at St George’s Hospital in London in 2020 and
presented at the prestigious Royal Society of Medicine and St John’s Dermatology meeting’s
where he was awarded Dermatology Registrar Presentation of the month.
Dr Yau has been published in international journals including the Australasian Journal of
Dermatology and the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Surgery. He has published
chapters for the Oxford Clinical Guidelines pertaining to Pruritis (itch) and Eczema.
Personally, he enjoys staying fit and getting outdoors camping and travelling with his
daughter and dog, Chloe, and believes that being outdoors and sun smart is an essential part
of living in Queensland.
